Plot Rules

1. Begin gardening by May 15th at the latest, or your plot will be considered a common area /will be given to someone on the waiting list.

2. Weed your plot regularly and weed the area around your plot, including the pathways near your plot.

3. This is organic gardening; no use of herbicides, pesticides, etc. Use only organic fertilizers, compost, mulch, etc.

4. Have someone weed, water, and care for your plot when you are away on vacation.

5. Vegetables are not permitted in common planting areas, except for the children’s garden.

6. Trees and large bushes are not permitted in plots, nor are sunken containers.

7. Poisonous plants or invasive plants such as Morning Glory are not permitted anywhere in the garden.

8. Composting is not to take place on plots; compost in bins only.

9. Trim plants back in the fall; cover delicate plants with leaves and mulch if you would like to preserve them.

10. Absolutely no condominiums, swimming pools, parking facilities, totems, billboards, etc. may be erected in plots. Gardeners may camp out on their plot for a maximum of ten nights per calendar year; tents, if used, may not exceed three feet in height. (Uh, yeah, we’re kidding . . . just wanted to see if you’ve read this far. But you really can't build giant stuff on your plot or sleep in the garden overnight.)
