December 2009
 
Solstice events

Sunday, December 20th -- all afternoon
* Drink hot cider
* Make a winter bird feeder ornament
* Stay warm by the fire -- have a hot dog!


Monday, December 21st... an after-school
solstice parade for children begins at
La Plaza (E. 9th & Avenue C) at 3:30 and ends at Green
Oasis around 4:30 with hot cider and a candle lighting
ceremony.
 


Meeting Sunday, December 6th at 11 a.m.
 
Garden is open when members are present
throughout the winter.
 
Sidewalks and paths will need to be swept and
cleared of snow... all helpers welcomed.

November 2009
 
It's getting cold, but the garden is still open for fall fun!
 
Next garden meeting is Sunday, November 1st at 11 a.m.
 
Next workday, Sunday November 8th -- plant spring bulbs,
rake leaves and so forth.
 
And on Sunday, November 15th, there will be a meeting
followed by the Lantern Festival in the afternoon.  Make
a lantern, toast marshmallows, drink cider, and
march in the lantern parade at dusk!
 
Oh -- and buy a "Mystery Box" -- gardeners will be
donating handcrafts and other goods -- buy a box,
support the garden and take home a nice surprise!

October 2009
 
Meetings scheduled for October 4th and 18th (11 a.m.)
 
Garden is open for regular weekend hours and when members are present during the week.

The Fall Festival (set for 10-18) was rained out this year!   :-(
 
                          however...it's been moved to 10-31... along with
                          
Pumpkin carving and trick or treat will be held on
the same day, Saturday, October 31st, from 12 - 5 p.m.
 
There will be fun activities for all, including a pot luck lunch, music, and cooking demonstration by a community chef.
Bring instruments and a dish to share. Individually wrapped candies and healthy treats are welcome too!

August - September 2009
 
Meetings scheduled for August 2nd and 16th (11 a.m.)
 
Garden is open for regular weekend hours and when members
are present during the week.

There will not be a meeting over Labor Day weekend,
but the garden will be open to visitors as usual.
 
September will have one meeting on Sunday, 9-20 at 11 a.m.
All welcome!

 

WORKDAY:  Sunday Sept. 25th -- flex hours (all day!)

 

 

Watch for upcoming events in October, including pumpkin carving, our fall festival and trick or treat.
